Confused About What Environmental or Safety and Health Management System Course To Take? Determining what training course to take can be a difficult decision. To help you with this decision, ask yourself the following questions first: (Note: blue means the sentences are hyperlinked to the appropriate section later in the page)
Environmental Training Solutions (ISO 14001)
Occupational Safety and Health Training Solutions (OHSAS 18001)
How do I pick a training provider? Just as the experts agree that the most important factor in investing in real estate is “location, location, location”, what makes a training class successful is “the instructor, the instructor, the instructor.” A good instructor can overcome poor training materials, but the best training materials cannot compensate for a poor instructor. Thea D. Dunmire is the course instructor for all of ENLAR’s courses. Ms. Dunmire is a RABQSA-certified EMS Lead Auditor, certified safety professional, certified industrial hygienist and experienced environmental attorney. She has over 20 years of experience in conducting adult-learning training and implementing and auditing environmental safety and health programs.
What is my current level of knowledge about the subject? If you are new to a particular area, you may want to start with an introductory course to get basic information about the subject matter and an overview of the pertinent standards. ENLAR offers the following introductory courses: Introduction to ISO 14001and Introduction to OHSAS 18001. Click here for more information about introductory courses. If you have already read extensively in the area, taken an introductory course or participated in an initial gap assessment, you may have little to gain from an introductory course. Use the table below to choice the best training course for you by focusing on how you plan to use the training. How do I want to use the training?
When it comes to training, longer is not necessarily better. ENLAR provides focused training solutions to meet your training needs. With the exception of the RABQSA-accredited Lead Auditor class, any of our training programs can be tailored to provide the skills and training needed by your organization. We can provide the training on-site at your location or make arrangements for off-site training specifically customized for your organization’s training needs. It is important to note that the RABQSA-accredited Lead Auditor class is not right for everyone. The curriculum and schedule of this course are fixed and the focus of this course is to prepare individuals to be third-party (registration) auditors. If that is not your need, another training solution may be more appropriate. Is there any value-added I should look for in choosing a particular training class? ENLAR is committed to making sure our training meets your needs. We provide you with skills and tools not just seat-time training. In addition, Thea Dunmire is available by phone to answer your questions should something come to mind after you have completed your training program. We will assist you in obtaining certification credits and provide training certificates that you can use as documentation that you have successfully completed our training programs. What about training seminar location and cost? ENLAR offers selected courses as public seminars in Tampa, Florida. ENLAR training programs can be conducted on-site at your location or we can put together a customized training seminar at an off-site location convenient for your attendees. We can put together training programs for groups as small as 6 trainees. ENLAR also partners with other organizations, such as local sections of national professional associations like the American Industrial Hygiene Association, to provide training solutions for their members. ENLAR provides excellent training value for the money. Contact us today for additional pricing information.
